The NEAR-GOOS RDMDB starts to provide the Monthly Mean Sea Surface Temperatures analyzed for 1 degree grid points in the global ocean between 90S and 90N. These are analyzed at the Office of Marine Prediction of the Japan Meteorological Agency.

As new observation stations, Ishikarishinko and Muroto were added from data of 2004.

The NEAR-GOOS RDMDB starts to provide the Daily subsurface temperatures in the seas around Japan.
The Daily subsurface temperatures are analyzed at the Office of Marine Prediction of the Japan Meteorological Agency.

Addition of 30 sec. interval sea level data observed by Japan Coast Guard from October, 1996 to December, 1998.

The NEAR-GOOS RDMDB starts to provide the MGDSSTs in the global ocean. The MGDSSTs are analyzed at the Office of Marine Prediction of the JMA with 1/4-degree grid resolution on the near-real-time basis.

The NEAR-GOOS RDMDB starts to provide the Sea Ice concentration in the north-east Asian marginal seas.
Sea Ice concentration data are analyzed at the Office of Marine Prediction of the Japan Meteorological Agency.

The NEAR-GOOS RDMDB starts to provide the Sea Surface Heights in the Pacific.
Sea Surface Dynamic Heights (SSDH) and Sea Surface Height Anomalies (SSHA)
are analyzed at the Office of Marine Prediction of the Japan Meteorological Agency.

The NEAR-GOOS RDMDB starts to provide the NOWPHAS (Nationalwide Ocean Wave information network for Ports and HArbourS) data. Japanese nationwide coastal wave data observed by the associated agencies of the Ports and Harbours Bureau of MLIT (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport) and analyzed by Port and Airport Reaserch Institute.

The NEAR-GOOS RDMDB starts to provide the GTSPP QC data. Temperature and salinity data extracted from the quality controlled dataset by MEDS (Marine Enviromental Data Service) of CANADA, which is resposible for real time data and qulity control within the GTSPP (Global Temperature and salinity profile project). The file contain the updataed for last three months.

Based on the approval of the NEAR-GOOS Coordinating Committee, JODC has opened the RDMDB to anyone. One time users can access for downloading data, if they input 'guest@onetime' instead of their registered E-mail addresses.

Notice to: All users, An operation policy of NEAR-GOOS data base was changed in the 3rd NEAR-GOOS
co-ordinating committee which was held in China in August 1998.
For this reason, we have renewed 'RDMDB home page', and developed new 'Data Retrieval System'
which can be registered by a user simply.
And, operation of these systems was started from May 28th, 1999.
